Bill McDermott attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa graduating in 1983 with a Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology. Included in this program was a one year internship at Marion Health Center in Sioux City, IA. From 1983-1988, Bill worked as a Medical Technololgist at Dickinson County Hospital in Spirit Lake, IA.
In 1988, Bill relocated to Des Moines and worked at Mercy Hospital as a Medical Technologist specializing in hematology. While employed at Mercy Hospital, Bill acquired a Masters of Science degree in Healthcare Administration at the University of St. Francis. In 1991, Bill accepted a position as a sales and marketing manager of the Des Moines region with Nichols Institute. Bill joined Pathology Laboratory in 1994 as a Consulting Technologist maintaining existing and establishing new accounts. Bill has been employed in that capacity with Iowa Pathology Associates and Pathology Laboratory ever since.
